To report a defect, it helps a lot to include: your Marcato version (under Help → About), what you did, and what happened instead of what you expected. If the app closed on its own, the diagnostic log is in %APPDATA%\Atenza\Marcato\logs — it records paths and errors, never the text of your documents.
No, and it is not a setting you can switch on — it is how the app was built. Reading, indexing and exporting are read-only operations. No .md file of yours is modified, moved or deleted, neither when you add a library nor when you export. Removing a library from the app deletes only its index.
Marcato lists Markdown files only — .md, .markdown, .mdown and .mkd. In a large folder the scan takes a few seconds; the status bar shows the progress. A folder you cannot read is skipped and the rest carries on.
The Windows picker hides network paths and WSL distributions. Use File → Add by path… and paste the full path. The quotes from Explorer's "Copy as path" are tolerated.
Yes. Marcato watches the folder and re-indexes what changed. If a great deal changes at once — a full sync, say — it stops watching and tells you; reload with Library → Refresh tree.

Accents are ignored when matching: codigo finds código. A stray bracket or quote breaks nothing — it becomes text.
It has most likely not been indexed yet, or failed to be read. The status bar shows how many documents errored. To rebuild everything: Library → Reindex from scratch.
Ctrl+Shift+E opens exporting, with PDF, Word (.docx), EPUB 3 and MOBI on one screen. You choose between the open document and its folder. Printing is separate, on Ctrl+P.
There is a ceiling per format — 300 documents for PDF and Word, 500 for EPUB and MOBI — and the screen always says how many were left out. It is never a silent failure: if you did not see the warning, no truncation happened.
Yes, through Send to Kindle — that is the format it accepts, and Marcato validates the package before letting you save. MOBI exists for copying to older Kindles over USB. For that format there is no public validator: the file has the structure the generator intended, and only the device confirms it.
It draws the first 20 and tells you how many exist. The saved file is complete — the ceiling belongs to the window, so it does not freeze on a long document.
Above 1 MB Marcato reduces some display features to keep scrolling smooth. Above 32 MB the reading is truncated, with a warning. The file on disk stays intact in both cases.
Images stored on your disk always load. Images hosted on the internet are blocked until you allow them, because downloading one tells its server that you opened that document. Change this under Settings → Privacy.

So that opening several files at once gives you one window with several tabs, the app listens on a local port at 127.0.0.1 — your own computer's address. Nothing leaves the machine. Denying it does not stop the app: each file simply opens in a window of its own.
%APPDATA%\Atenza\Marcato — search index, preferences and diagnostic logs. The index is disposable: clearing it under Settings → Search index removes none of your files, and it rebuilds itself on the next scan.
No. Uninstalling removes the app and offers to delete the data folder above. Your Markdown files stay exactly where they always were.
